SLOW DESIGN

What is “Slow Design”?

The simplest definition of slow design is materials done thoughtfully, responsibly, and sustainably.

Slowness, in this sense, refers not to how long it takes to create something but rather to how designs are carefully thought out, materials are consciously crafted, and items are appreciated for years to come.

'Slow Design' is a unique and vital form of creative activism to deliver new values for design and contributing to the shift toward sustainability.

At MOA we focus on reason, meaningfulness, beauty, quality and foreverness of our jewellery and wearable art products. Each piece is carefully designed to be timeless and long-lasting, not seasonal or disposable.

We believe in creating jewellery that can be passed on, redesigned, repaired, and reborn. Our products are made from sustainable and recyclable precious metals and stones such as gold, platinum, and diamonds — materials that hold value across generations.

Slow design also means respecting craftsmanship. Every piece is produced in limited quantities, with careful attention to detail, supporting skilled artisans and helping preserve traditional jewellery-making techniques.

For us, slow design is about meaning, quality, longevity, and responsibility — creating objects that carry value not only today, but forever.

Creating new symbolic awareness, re-positioning the unfamiliar or forgotten, playing with time, playing with materials and symbolic layers of meaning is how we position “Slow Design”.
